The Quest

Image
The quest for... what? Maybe it's a bit of inspiration. It usually is. You get past wondering whether you should or should not put yourself out there, and when you eventually do, you regret it almost immediately because you feel that you are probably never going to get the result you so desire because of the feeling of inadequacy. Maybe it's solace. It could be. Perhaps a quest to create a world in which you have a say? You can spin a tale or two in many directions as you direct the outcome of the life you breathe into your new world. Could that be it? Or could it be the thirst for a means of expression? Wanna know what's really important? Of course, you do. The answer to that one lies solely with you. Why do you want to write? What about? To achieve what? What's your trigger? How much are you willing to invest in this? The quest of being is one many find most difficult at the initial stage of things. The art of birthing a concept; stems from something you need to find ...

No Ink, No Love

Image
And it's Valen- time ? (Sue me, I didn't feel like writing in full). The season of love has officially come to bear its full weight and the numerous excited screams throughout the night on my end are more than enough to prove it. Well, as the lovable person that I undoubtedly am, I thought, "why don't I do something extra weird?" But "weird" would be a tad inappropriate. Something more meaningful should suffice so, I am going to leave you all with a nice little digital ink stain of mine. Let me know when you get it. Please, enjoy. In the dark of night Lying in my birthday suit You're wrath, a  fright. Laid (me) in my birthday  suit. Guilt piled so  high, Painted on my birthday  suit. I plead, I sigh, Lying in my birthday suit. The pain, I deny, Lying in my birthday suit. Loving things, making me cry, Wailing in my birthday suit. I grew, I groaned, Lying in my birthday suit. Was stretched and pulled, Lying in my birthday suit. I wailed and moaned, Lyi...

Read of the Week #01

Image
So... Yeah, this was supposed to start off later this weekend (I was initially aiming for a Saturday night kickoff, so to speak) but then it just hit me outta the blue: It's Valentine's Day! Should I really let this chance slip past? Not even one little romance themed story for the season? Nah. So, with that in mind, let's kick Read of the Week off with some love themed books to immerse yourself into! Lovers for Life We'll start off with my pick for the more generic 'romantic' stories. For the more classical 'novel readers' out there, my pick for this year is Nora Roberts' Tribute . It's a powerful story of legacy, secrets, finding one's place and, of course, love.  Tribute is a personal favorite of mine even amongst Nora Roberts' library of works. In fact, not only do I admire the character of Ford Sawyer, I had a bit of a crush on Cilla (and yes, I thought up entire plotlines for Brid, too!) If you're a fan of contemporary romance, ...

New Series Alert: Read of the Week!

Image
Alright: starting a week from now, we'll be posting our Reads of the Week. These are literary works that we enjoyed and feel you guys would get a kick out of reading as well. The stories will run the gamut from fanfics, Wattpad and Ao3 works to published works from new, established and outright legendary authors. You might catch a novel from Lady Díá one week and a fanfic from The Ethereal Lord the next or you might get a double-update alert from us, meaning two new recommendations in that week. Whichever the case may be, we hope to help you fill out your library with some truly epic reads. And don't be shy either! If you've got recommendations for us then let us know in the comments: at least one of us will read through it and you might just get to see your favorite stories as our Read of the Week!

Catharsis...

Image
Okay, wow ; it has been a while since I've had a chance to just sit at a keyboard and type my heart away!  I've just come out of an hour-long type-fest (yes; I know that's just pitiful 😂 ) and the feeling I got as my brain cooled off... Holy Crap!   The catharsis was so visceral it was just... Unbelievable! It was also nostalgic as hell because it took me back to the my early days as an aspiring author... My first true foray into the world of writing (no, I don't count the very first drabbles I put down because I was just groping in the dark back then) kicked off with my book, E.L.I.T.E.S, commencement date: September 7th 2007. Back then, I'd just come out of a serious WITCH phase (you really should read WITCH if you haven't) so, for about three years after that, all my book titles were acronyms of the major characters but that's just an aside; the important thing to note here is that back then, I wasn't exactly the happiest kid on the block...
